On a recent warm afternoon - at least by Maine standards - our tumblr photographer Bitzy and her beau took to Higgins Beach for a little surf and sun.

Armed with provisions from Scratch Bakery, a thermos of coffee and a stack of books, their surf excursion was a welcome reprieve from winter weather. Local surfers watch the waves on the Higgins Beach livefeed - and the rest of us check it out as we anticipate summer.
